It being Bank Holiday weekend, Lowestoft was rammed yesterday! Despite the traffic jams, one-way system and parking problems, a terrific crowd turned out to watch SYNERGY at the Blues Bar. We played for three hours at this great little music venue and had the crowd on their feet the whole time. We can't have been too bad even without harp player Garth, because we were immediately rebooked!
Lead guitarist Tim phoned in a panic to see if I was free to join him at Freethorpe Village Hall: the act they'd booked had called off. So: with an hour's notice, I ran off some set lists of numbers I thought we could manage as a duo (the other guys being away or unobtainable) and threw my gear into the car. Fortunately, vocalist and harpist Garth phoned me about another matter and I was able to persuade him to join us.
All in all, it was a good little session, albeit a bit 'thin' without drums and bass: but we pulled it off and reportedly sounded pretty good!
Many thanks to the decent crowd who turned up at the King's Head, Blofield for our Easter Sunday gig: there was even one couple who'd come all the way from Bury St Edmunds!
